Así cantaba España en 1942

Se impone la “revista” como fenómeno musical.

Yola es una revista musical, denominada por sus autores como “Zarzuela cómico moderna”, en dos actos divididos en varios cuadros, escrita por José Luis Sáenz de Heredia y Federico Vázquez Ochando, con música de Juan Quintero Muñoz y José María Irueste Germán.

Se estrenó en el Teatro Eslava de Madrid el 14 de marzo de 1941, con Celia Gámez como estrella y fue el primer gran acontecimiento del mundo del espectáculo en España tras el fin de la Guerra civil: En septiembre de 1942, se habían alcanzado las 500 representaciones con lleno absoluto.

La SGAE confirma “Mírame” tema de la revista “Yola” como el que consiguió la mayor recaudación en 1942 por difusión y ventas.

Celia Gámez se consagra como artista de moda superado por primera vez a Conchita Piquer en éxito, que queda relegada a un segundo lugar.

“Tout va trés bien, Madame la Marquise” una popular canción satírica de origen francés grabada por Lina Francis y la Orquesta Gran Casino con el título “¡No Hay Novedad, Señora Baronesa!”, se convirtió en otro de los temas de moda en aquellos años, los más afines a la dictadura encontraban divertido lo de “No hay novedad”, frase muy similar a “Sin novedad en el frente”, de claras y recientes connotaciones bélicas.

Xavier Cugat, continúa liderando los sonidos orquestales; en canción española Juanita Reina, Antoñita Colmé, Estrellita Castro, la joven María Paz y  el gran Niño de Marchena, imponen sus estilos en la época.

El resto de la lista de canciones populares de aquel 1942 se completa con temas de origen hispanoamericano que iban desde las rancheras mexicanas a los tangos argentinos pasando por los ritmos tropicales.

Mientras España intenta quitarse el hambre que la guerra ha dejado en el país, otro fantasma aterrador se extiende sobre Europa y el resto del mundo. La II Guerra Mundial es ya un hecho cuya máquina de matar devora centenares de miles de vidas en campos de exterminio y sus efectos de contagio llegan a prácticamente todos los miguel-de-molinarincones del planeta pese a la resistencia de algunos países a entrar en el conflicto.

En 1941 España reconstxavier cugat for gilda ruye sus ruinas, juega al futbol y recupera las verbenas en las fiestas populares.

La radio pone banda sonora a los quehaceres cotidianos. Conchita Piquer se convierte en la reina del microsurco mientras las orquestas acaparan las pistas de baile.

Hollywood se rinde a la batuta del catalán Xavier Cugat, que cuenta con él para ambientar musicalmente decenas de películas.

Una primeriza Lola Flores junto a popular Gracia de Triana sé reparten el “tronío” de la copla junto a Miguel de Molina que ya piensa en hacer las maletas para marcharse de una España “oficialista” que no acepta su condición sexual y que no perdona sus coqueteos con los republicanos.

El pasodoble español gana espacio y se impone como baile de moda en verbenas y festejos populares.

1940-la-dolores-conchita-piquer-olcina lo-que-fue-de-la-dolores

1940 fue un año amargo para una España que salía de una abominable guerra que la acababa de romper en mil jirones desangrándola hasta la extenuación.

España no estaba para músicas pero es cierto que ante tanta desolación se hacía necesario volver a recuperar una relativa normalidad en la vida diaria.imperio-argentina

No iba a ser fácil perdonar, callar y disimular tantas injusticias, pero la sociedad era consciente de la necesidad de seguir viviendo, en muchos casos atenazados por el miedo, en una España que miraba de reojo a la otra recelando de ella.

Dos eran también las figuras del cine y la canción que se repartían por igual el éxito en la España de la posguerra; Conchita Piquer e Imperio Argentina.

La valenciana y la bonaerense ya eran populares antes de la “contienda”,  con la vuelta a lo cotidiano las dos artistas aceptadas por el nuevo régimen repusieron y estrenaron películas, montaron espectáculos y grabaron discos de pizarra con  el sello “La voz de su amo”.

La proliferación de la radio ayudó a que las voces de Imperio y Conchita llegaran a todos los rincones del país, popularizando las partituras de Quintero, León y Quiroga que curiosamente aquel año 1940 se entremezclaban con las de Federico Garcia Lorca un poeta al que jamás pudo callar la intransigencia.

conchita-piquerLa lista de éxitos que acompaña a este comentario está encabezada por “A La lima y al limón” interpretada por Conchita Piquer, tema que consiguió la mayor recaudación de derechos por su difusión en aquel año según la SGAE.

El resto de grabaciones y regrabaciones  están registradas cronológicamente por la Biblioteca Nacional de España, fuente a la que recurrimos para darle valor a este trabajo.

Espero os deleitéis redescubriendo aquellas canciones que tarareaban nuestros abuelos y que en algunos casos forman también parte de nuestra propia memoria.
